Current Role
Simone is working as a Regulatory Compliance Consultant at Compliance Champs. In this role, she focuses on supporting financial institutions and companies involved in crypto.
For crypto companies, her support primarily involves helping them structure their organization, including governance, legal, risk, and compliance departments, as well as the control framework. This ensures compliance with MiCAR, DORA, and travel rule requirements. For financial institutions, her support can cover all aspects related to compliance or crypto.
Professional Experience and Qualities
Simone has been a Certified Compliance Professional for over 12 years. She spent more than six years in various compliance roles at Rabobank, including serving as the Compliance Officer for Rabobank Rotterdam. After that, Simone worked for five years as the Legal & Compliance Director at LiteBit, a cryptocurrency broker in Rotterdam. In this role, she and her team established the entire legal, compliance, and privacy department, drafted the necessary policies, set up the control framework, conducted second-line controls, wrote quarterly reports, and successfully applied for the required and desired crypto registrations.
Over the past year, Simone has assisted a foreign company in obtaining its crypto registration and preparing MiCAR and DORA license applications.

Personal Interests and Hobbies
Outside of work, Simone has a large social network and is often found in the company of friends. She loves winter sports, and as a scuba diver, she enjoys traveling the world in search of beautiful dive locations.
