Current Role
Paulien currently serves as a Regulatory Compliance Consultant at Compliance Champs, where she focusses on helping companies in the crypto space to comply with the upcoming crypto laws and regulations within Europe (e.g. MiCAR, DORA and the Travel Rule). This requires a proactive approach, staying ahead of regulatory changes, and implementing solutions that align with each client’s unique business model. Her work ranges from guiding, advising and supporting licensing processes for crypto-asset service providers to reviewing, implementing and updating policies, procedures and control frameworks or simply acting as a sparring partner.
Professional Experience and Qualities
Paulien is a Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) with 5+ years of experience as a compliance officer in the crypto area. Paulien has a proven track record in regulatory assessments, drafting, updating, and reviewing policies and procedures, and preparing, submitting and maintaining crypto registrations at European financial authorities.
Paulien previously held a role at LiteBit as a legal and compliance officer, where she became acquainted with the regulations that crypto companies must comply with. She contributed to getting a registration in different countries within the EU. While preparing, submitting, and maintaining registrations (regarding AMLD5 and limited network exemptions), she was involved in selecting and maintaining relationships with law firms, researching local regulations, contacting regulators, advising management, and drafting the necessary documentation.
In addition, she gained extensive experience in drafting, updating, and reviewing policies, procedures and contracts.

Personal Interests and Hobbies
Outside of work, Paulien enjoys playing football and cooking. She also loves to travel the world and explore new countries, cultures and kitchens.
