Boy Custers
Managing Partner – Compliance Champs Integrity & Investigations
Current Role
As managing partner and co-founder, Boy is responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic development of Compliance Champs Integrity & Investigations. He does this together with his “managing partner in crime,” Dennis.
In this role, he focuses on conducting and overseeing complex investigations, including fraud investigations, compliance audits, background checks, and various eDiscovery projects. He also provides advice on the implementation of policies, procedures, and internal control measures.
Boy combines strong analytical skills with a pragmatic approach, always aiming to create clarity and trust.
Professional Experience and Qualities
Boy has extensive experience in conducting and coordinating investigations at the intersection of integrity, governance, and compliance. He has long been a certified private investigator (SVPB) and certified fraud examiner (ACFE). Over the years, he has led and executed numerous assignments, including fraud investigations within both the public and private sectors, fact-finding inquiries into internal and external incidents, compliance investigations supporting legal proceedings (Regulatory Due Diligence), integrity and background investigations related to mergers and acquisitions (Integrity Due Diligence), and complex eDiscovery projects involving the analysis and structuring of large volumes of data — for example, in bankruptcy cases.
In addition to his investigative experience, Boy is an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) specialist (ACAMS). He has advised various AML-regulated companies — ranging from FinTech firms to the trust sector — on AML, Financial Economic Crime (FEC), and internal governance. In recent years, he has also served as a subject matter expert for internal auditors within the financial sector.
In his work, Boy places great importance on clear communication, transparency, and honesty — both toward clients and within his team. No surprises, but open collaboration where expectations are clearly defined. His strength lies in translating complex issues into clear insights and practical solutions, always with an eye for the interests of all parties involved.
Personal Interests and Hobbies
In his free time, Boy enjoys good food (and matching wines), skiing, traveling, and spending quality time with his family. He loves discovering new experiences and flavors — something that perfectly reflects his curious and open-minded nature, both in his work and beyond.
