Current Role
Michelle serves as the Privacy Compliance Specialist at Compliance Champs. In her role, she is responsible for the strategic development and execution of our privacy practice and services.
Her responsibilities include the development and implementation of a framework that supports both the internal organization and provides clients with specialized support and advice, with a strong focus on compliance with the highest standards of privacy and data protection.
Professional Experience and Qualities
Michelle is an internationally certified privacy professional (CIPP/E) with an extensive background in privacy consultancy within the financial services industry and as an in-house Privacy Officer at Litebit. Her proven track record in navigating data-driven organizations has provided her with a solid foundation.
In her previous roles, she played a key role in developing robust privacy policies, managing processing activities, and leading privacy initiatives within organizations. Her expertise includes drafting and reviewing documents such as data processing agreements and processing registers, as well as conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). She provides strategic advice on direct marketing and international data transfers and has a keen eye for compliance and risk management. Additionally, she effectively manages data breaches, develops procedures for handling data subject requests, and applies her knowledge of privacy-by-design in practice. Her experience in designing and delivering privacy awareness training, as well as her advisory role in M&A transactions, makes her a versatile and knowledgeable partner for organizations looking to navigate the complexities of privacy regulations.
